Week 14

I've been playing too much house and techno over the last few weeks, so this week I'm going to focus more on some new ambient, hip hop and electronica. I'm going to start and finish with two tracks from Julianne Barwick. Its hard to describe her music, its similar to Steve Reich but using her vocals as the sole instrument. Whatever it is, its fantastic. The two tracks are from her album Florine, released in April. Next up, I have another track to go into my 2009 favorities folder, Nights off by Siriusmo. Simple but beautiful lo fi electronica. I also have new tracks from milke, robert wurtz, simian mobile disco, zoot woman, some african house from myd and a great track called seamonkey by moderat. Technically it's dubstep, but had it been released four years ago it would of been called techno and no-one would think its strange. The worst thing about doing this show is trying to put everything into simple genres....argh!!!! Also, new techno from speedy J and old house classics by dino lenny and fred falke. Enjoy!
